New Principal at Sterling Planning Alliance
Roberta (Bobbe) Young, LtCol (Ret), BS, MHA has joined Sterling as a Principal, where she is responsible for leading project engagements, refining the firms space and functional programming data, and developing client relationships.
Bobbe has 28 years and over $2 billion of experience in planning and overseeing the design and execution of healthcare construction projects for integrated health systems, academic medical centers, specialty care, ambulatory care and support service centers. She also has extensive experience in developing strategic master facility plans, the most recent of which led to a $259 million Hospital of the Future replacement hospital for Baystate Medical Center.
Bobbe has always been a passionate advocate of patient and family centered care; she has been a consultant resource for many design teams and presented on the topic at national and international conferences. A former Chief Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General of Health Facilities Planning, Bobbe led tri-service teams in developing automated medical space and equipment planning systems, as well as facility assessment tools.
After Bobbe retired from the Air Force, prior to Baystate Health, she worked as an independent consultant and for the Rhode Island Department of Health as an Emergency Response Planner.
